6.1-magnitude earthquake jolts West-Papua

Jakarta, Oct 4 (DPA) An earthquake registering 6.1 on the Richter scale struck off the easternmost Indonesian province of West Papua Sunday morning, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage, the Indonesian seismological agency said.
The quake struck at 12.36 p.m. local time (0336 GMT) and was centred in the sea about 123 km north-west of Manokwari on West Papua province, and occurred at about 56 km beneath the seabed, Indonesia’s National Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
