Search continues for 14 people feared buried under landslide on a road in Yapen Islands in Papua after a 7.1-magnitude quake hit Biak on Wednesday.

Adj. Comr. Muhsin N, a member of police evacution team, told kompas.com Saturday that the 14 people were on their from Angkaisera to Utara Beach on a rent vehicle when the quake hit.

The regency recorded five people were killed and 15 others severely injured during the earthquake.

A series of powerful earthquakes rattled Papua on Wednesdy afternoon, damaging dozens of houses.

In Biak, quakes also caused wide-spread panic, as many recalled the massive quake that hit Biak and Manokwari in 1996
