Tuesday, November 2, 1300 West Papua time: Reports are coming from Manokwari, West Papua, that Indonesian security forces are blocking a peaceful protest by West Papuan community members. Public Fasting and Prayer were being conducted as opposition to the daily Indonesian security force violence against West Papuan people.
Up to 200 riot police from Brimob and Detachment 88 are refusing to allow the prayer gathering to occur. Protest organisers are describing the situation as highly tense, considering that over 200 Indonesian Army Kostrad commandos arrived in Manokwari on Monday night in two Hercules aircraft.
