The provincial government will build a green economy of the region to improve the standard of the local community economy without damaging the environment, said Governor of Papua, Barnabas Suebu at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, on Thursday.

"In the long run, this program is for the dimension of justice, as well as environmentally friendly, can improve long-term prosperity," said Barnabas, after reporting that the construction plan to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

According to Barnabas, green economic development program area will be centered in two places, namely Mambrano and Timika.

He explained that the program was welcomed by the president. According to him, the president of the Papua provincial government hopes to increase cooperation among districts in the area, so the program can go as planned. "Hopefully those places grow to create jobs," he said.

In addition to the program area green economy, the government of Papua province will also develop the area of food and energy industry development in Merauke. Barnabas also said the government of Papua Province is designing programs that equitable distribution of welfare.

On the same day, President Yudhoyono also listened to reports from the ranks of the government of West Papua Province.

West Papua Governor Abraham O Attaruti after meeting with the president declared, the government of West Papua province will build a cement factory in Manokwari. The plant is expected to be sufficient demand for cement in the province.

"Because the problem of cement is the most difficult problems for us in Papua there," he said.

West Papua Provincial Government will also develop dairy farms. The farm will be built at Twin Valley, Manokwari. Abraham also said it would increase production of soybeans, which can contribute to national food production.
