The Biak Numfor regency administration in West Papua has finally started delivering humanitarian aid to flash flood victims in Wasior, five months after the disaster occurred.

Around 6 tons of various aid including instant noodles, bottled water and clothes, were shipped to Wasior in Teluk Wondama regency on Monday, Biak Numfor Social Welfare Agency officer Yan Domeng said Tuesday.

He said that the administration had experienced delays in shipping the aid from the community in Biak Numfor because of limited sea transportation in the area, Antara reported.

Even though the aid, particularly the food and water, had been in storage for several months, it was still in good condition, Domeng said.

Another 30 tons is waiting to be sent to Wasior
