A Batavia Air plane skidded off runway while landing in the Sentani airport in Jayapura, Papua, on Tuesday morning, according to Papua Transportation Agency head Bambang Sismanto.
The plane carrying 148 passengers was en route from Jakarta and Makassar to Jayapura, with an additional stop planned in Merauke.
No casualties have been reported yet. However, the incident disrupted air traffic from and to the airport.
A number of passengers going to Merauke reportedly have to stay overnight in Jayapura and will continue their trips on Wednesday morning. (swd)
