The Papua Police reported on Tuesday that three firearms possessed by
officers of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the National Police
(Polri) had been taken by unidentified people in separate occasions.

Let. Paulinus Logo was on his way to Mewulok District in Puncak Jaya
regency on Friday when he was stopped by a group of people, who later
robbed him of his pistol. A day later, an rifle belonging to a Mobile
Brigade (Brimob) officer was stolen in Mewulok district.

Pol. Ferly Fonataba reported his revolver was stolen by a thief who
broke into his home in Perumnas IV Jayapura on Tuesday morning.
Papua
Police spokesman Comr. Pol. Johannes Nugroho blamed the Papua
Liberation Army Front and the Free Papua Movement (TPN/OPM) for the
firearm robbery in Mewulok, saying the crime was aimed at disrupting the
re-vote process during the regional election.
