Hundreds of patients of Manokwari General Hospital (RUSD) in West Papua were stranded on Thursday as the hospital’s workers went on a one-day strike.
The strike was called when management failed to increase security after a nurse was beaten by a patient’s family on Wednesday – something that the workers said was commonplace.
The hospital’s emergency room was closed during the strike and new patients directed to other hospitals.
The workers also reported the case to the Manokwari Police, kompas.com reported.(lfr)
