Three police officers were gunned down by unknown assailants at Pirime Police Headquarters in Lani Jaya, Papua, on Tuesday morning.
Papua Police chief Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian said the three victims were Pirime Police Chief Second Insp. Rofli Takabesi and his two personnel Brig. Jefri Rumkoren and Sec. Brig. Daniel Makuker.
Tito told Antara news agency that the perpetrators burned down the headquarters and took the officers' firearms.
Tito and other top Papua Police officers will go to Pirime to investigate the incident.
